Our Story
Waterfront Group was founded by twin brothers Mark and Will Adkins, born five minutes apart in Huntington, WV. They both played football at Coastal Carolina University, earning Business Administration degrees in 1989. After gaining experience at a successful land company—Will in acquisition and development, and Mark in sales—they combined their expertise to launch Waterfront Group in 1994.
Today, Waterfront Group is the Southeast’s leading land development and second-home marketing company. Our team of experts manages every aspect of the process, from land acquisition and development to sales and closing. The acquisition team secures some of the most breathtaking properties, often directly from the banking and development industries.
Waterfront Group is committed to responsible, thoughtful development, always respecting the land and adhering to local environmental, planning, and zoning regulations.
Beyond the office, Mark and Will share a variety of interests, including competing on local baseball teams, piloting private aircraft, and dedicating time to charitable causes. They have long supported animal rescue organizations and are both actively involved in Camp New Hope, the children’s charity they founded and continue to privately own.
